  Accountability Project

The Idaho Charter School Network (ICSN) worked in collaboration with the Colorado League of Charter Schools, the Idaho State Department of Education, and an ICSN Accountability Committee made up of school district administrators, local charter educators, parents, and founders to develop this Accountability Plan for Idaho’s Public Charter Schools.

Presentation about our Accountability Plan-- this is a PowerPoint presentation about the ICSN Accountability Plan.

The Accountability Matrix-- this is a matrix developed from the four key areas of the plan:
1) governance and administration
2) quality of academic program
3) stakeholder satisfaction, involvement and support
4) continuous school improvement plans

Critical Questions from the Accountability Matrix-- this is a link to the set of critical questions ICSN visiting teams ask at the schools they visit. Schools should consider addressing these elements in their strategic plans and/or their plans for continuous improvement.

Accountability Plan Overview-- this is a link to a document that describes the objectives  and steps in implementing the ICSN accountability plan.

Strategic Planning

ICSN offers Strategic Planning Retreats for member schools. We'll engage 10-20 members of your school community (parents, teachers, staff, board members, etc.) in a 1-3 day strategic planning retreat to analyze strengths and weaknesses of the organization, name internal and external opportunities and threats for the organization, create specific goals, assign these to committees, refine the mission and vision of the school and prepare a draft strategic plan to be shared with your entire school community.

Retreats are typically scheduled off campus. The facilitator will provide a summary of the retreat and an initial draft of the strategic plan. To arrange a planning retreat for your school, ICSN needs at least 3 weeks of lead time to secure a facilitator and to book travel. A nominal fee will be charged to cover expenses and travel only.
