In order to move
into greater NCLB compliance, and offer a deeper
level of technical assistance to Idaho's
schools/districts in Needs Improvement status,
the state has launched a statewide system of
support: The Idaho Building Capacity (IBC)
Project.
Title I
schools/districts that are in Year 1, Year 2,
Corrective Action, or Restructuring are eligible
to submit an application for the Idaho Building
Capacity project. If selected,
schools/districts will engage in a three year,
scaffolded school improvement planning and
implementation process that includes the
services of a trained outside consultant
(Capacity Builder), professional development
opportunities, and provided resources.
This project is
currently serving 26 school and district sites
in Southwest Idaho, and 54 sites statewide in
partnership with IBC service centers.
