addition to an approved school improvement plan, you will be required to submit
an Action Plan for each indicator for which you have not yet met AYP.

The Center on Innovation & Improvement is a national center that helps regional
centers in their work with states to provide districts, schools, and families,
with the opportunity, information, and skills to make wise decisions on behalf
of students.

Professional Learning Community (PLC)
PLCWashington was developed to help implement, support, and sustain meaningful
professional learning communities in schools. PLCWashington is built on the
premise that PLC work becomes a structure for professional development in
schools, the work engages staff in a collaborative process, and the process is
focused on student learning and instructional practice.

National High School Center
The National High School Center at the American Institutes for Research (AIR),
in collaboration with its partners, strives to provide the most up-to-date,
accessible information on breakthroughs in high school improvement, vetted best
practices, hands on technical assistance to the Regional Comprehensive Centers,
and an easy-to-use navigation of the latest research on creating and maintaining
excellent high schools. The National High School Center does not endorse any
interventions nor does it conduct field
studies.

Academic Development Institute
The Academic Development Institute (ADI) works with families, schools, and
communities so that all children may become self-directed learners, avid
readers, and responsible citizens, respecting themselves and those around them.
ADI’s vision is of an American landscape filled with distinct school communities
reflecting the hopes and dreams of the people intimately attached to them.

Regional School Improvement Workshops
These workshops were offered in the fall of 2008 to Title I schools and
districts that had been identified for school improvement Alert, Year 1, Year 2,
Corrective Action, or Restructuring based on the Spring 2008 ISAT scores.
You were eligible for this technical assistance even if you made AYP in Spring
2008 and are now in a Year I or beyond holding pattern.
