Assistant professor of History, Dr. John P. Bieter Jr., received his Bachelors Degree in Social Science-Economics from the University of St. Thomas, his Masters Degree in History from Boise State University and his Doctoral degree from Boston College where he focused on immigration, ethnicity and identity in the American West. He has written articles on the Irish in Idaho, biographies of Basques in the West, and coauthored, An Enduring Legacy: The Story of Basques in Idaho. A secondary teacher for fifteen years, John currently directs the Basque Studies Center and teaches for the Colleges of Education and Social Sciences and Public Affairs at Boise State.
