Dr. Kim Bunning recently completed her doctorate degree in Instruction and Curriculum in the Content Area of Mathematics from the University of Colorado - Boulder. While at CU Boulder she worked on projects involving the design and implementation of mathematics teacher professional development as well as transformative professional development and teacher education. She also taught various graduate and undergraduate courses. She currently holds the position of Post-Doctoral Fellow, working under the direction of Dr. Jonathan Brendefur as part of the Developing Mathematical Thinking project. Dr. Bunning's research interests include the exploration and development of teachers' knowledge of mathematics for teaching, teachers' mathematics identity development (beliefs, emotions and affective factors), and various aspects of qualitative research including the use of narrative and story-telling.
