Marybeth Flachbart, M.Ed., C.A.L.T., Boise State University, Center for School Improvement. Served as Bureau Chief of Special Populations Services, Director of Reading First, and Reading Coordinator the Idaho State Department of Education. Marybeth is a member of the National Governors association Early Childhood Task Force and served on the Governor’s Coordinating Council for Families and Children, as well as the state’s Early Childhood Cross Systems Task Force. She is a past President of the Idaho Branch of the International Reading Association. Prior to joining the state department of education she was a member of the elementary education faculty at Boise State University. Before coming to Idaho, Marybeth was part of the teaching staff at the Neuhaus Education Center in Houston, Texas. Neuhaus is a not-for-profit educational foundation dedicated to curricular research and professional development. Her classroom experience includes ten years with the Houston Independent School District as a Reading Specialist and Reading Teacher Trainer. Marybeth holds a Masters degree in Special Education from Fairfield University, is one of only 700 individuals nationally to be certified as an Academic Language Therapist. Other teaching endorsements include K-12 special education and Dyslexia Specialist.
