A Place of Heart ….
A Field Study of Leadership, Education and Instruction in Japan
Enjoy a ten-day field study from June 20-29 into Japanese culture and its internationally recognized K-12 educational system that provides a revealing look into an exemplary system of education. Japan is currently engaged in continuous education improvement efforts. In addition to maintaining high standards for academic excellence, Japanese schools are focused on developing individuality and creativity, and cultivating emotionally well-rounded human beings.
Participants in this field study will explore elementary, middle and high schools in both urban and rural locales, investigate leader and teacher preparation, and learn from educational officials. Interspersed throughout the study tour will be opportunities to meet with Japanese leaders, teachers, students and parents to learn first-hand how the system works.
