Idaho Reading First

 

In partnership with the Idaho State Department of Education, the CSI & PS is providing technical assistance to Idaho Reading First school sites in which 60% or more of the students live at or below the poverty level. 

Technical assistance to Reading First schools includes facilitating on-site calibration visits, professional development to assist teachers, reading coaches, and administrators with strategies for analyzing and using assessment data to guide instruction in the classroom. Technical assistance also includes outlining guidelines for implementing a SBRR (scientifically based reading research) program, hosting regional and statewide leadership meetings, and providing professional development in areas that are program specific, help with classroom management, or in areas that otherwise assist building and district leaders with successful implementation of Reading First requirements and assist teachers in providing systematic reading instruction to their students.
